How can working with a specialist help
If you’ve arrived at my website its’s likely that you, or someone you care about is needing support from a professional therapist. As a therapist with a specialism in working with children and young adults ( 7 - 25 years) I regularly work with children, young people, parents and professionals who are seeing change, a return to health, and a rediscovery of themselves from a kinder and calmer place.
What I know and understand about working with children and young adults
For variety of reasons, some children and young people may develop fears, limiting beliefs or big emotions at odds with their developmental stage, peers or experience of life previously. As no two children or adult experiences life in the same way, my role is to support my clients to start to process emotional experiences that may be impacting their ability to thrive.
My Clinical Module in brief:
My belief in the power of therapeutic relationships stem from the fact that we are social and relational beings. who are hard wired to respond to feeling seen, heard and understood in our own way. As we rarely recover well in isolation, child and young adult focused therapeutic support intergrates aspects of Attachment theory, Child development, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) aspects of play and creative arts therapy to meet a child or young adult where they are today and specifically so. Working in this way recognises and responds to the fact that words alone are rarely not enough.
“The most daunting thing about starting therapy is finding the right therapist. I feel incredibly lucky to have found Stella’s practice, not only because she is a great listener, but also knows how to help my thoughts flow in the right direction”. Una 25
